Everest Drilling combines geological knowledge, precision equipment, and hands-on field experience to deliver reliable boreholes across South Africa.
Everest Drilling operates across the full project lifecycle — from site assessment and geophysical survey to drilling, pump installation, and ongoing maintenance. Each discipline is handled by experienced specialists.
Our survey team deploys resistivity and seismic refraction methods to map subsurface geology before a single metre of borehole is drilled. Identifying the optimal drill target reduces drilling risk and improves yield results for the client.
Our drill rigs operate in rotary air and mud rotary configurations, enabling us to penetrate hard crystalline rock, dolerite intrusions, and Karoo Supergroup sediments. Everest equipment drills to 250m depth — sufficient for virtually all South African groundwater targets.
Our pump engineers size and install submersible borehole pumps to match the yield and static water level of each borehole. Installations include pump controller, rising main, surface pipework, and overhead storage tank where required.
Where grid power is unavailable or unreliable, our team designs and installs solar borehole pump systems. The solar array charges the pump during daylight hours; an overhead tank provides gravity-fed supply around the clock — including during load shedding.
Our rehabilitation team diagnoses declining borehole yields using airlift testing and camera inspection, then applies hydrofracturing, airlifting, or casing repairs as the situation requires. Many boreholes that appear spent can be restored to full production.
Productive boreholes require an understanding of the local geology. Our team has direct field experience in the Eastern Cape — from Karoo basin sedimentary formations to dolerite sills, coastal sediments along the Wild Coast, and metamorphic basement rocks in the higher-lying districts.
Each Everest project mobilises a coordinated team of specialists. Here is who is on a typical project crew:
Operates the drill rig, monitors lithology changes during drilling, and decides on casing depth and screen placement. The lead driller carries hands-on drilling experience across multiple geological zones.
Deploys geophysical equipment on site, processes resistivity data, and interprets results to identify the most productive drill target before drilling begins.
Selects, sizes and installs the submersible pump, controls, rising main, and surface pipework. Also responsible for commissioning pump tests and yield documentation.
Designs the solar array and battery or tank storage system for off-grid or load-shedding resilient borehole installations. Ensures the solar pump system matches the daily water demand and local irradiance profile.
Coordinates the crew on site, manages logistics, and is the primary point of contact with the client during the project. Handles all site-specific practical decisions as the work progresses.
Manages scheduling, equipment dispatch, and client communication from the Everest office. Keeps the project on timeline and ensures all site findings are reported back to the client on completion.
Our team draws on a wide body of field knowledge, built up through continuous work in South African geological environments:
Everest Drilling guarantees the depth of every borehole as quoted and drilled. Our team commits to completing the borehole to the depth contracted — and we communicate honestly with clients when site conditions differ from what the geophysical survey indicated, so that informed decisions can be made at every stage of the project.
From residential homes to commercial operations and game farms — Everest Drilling has worked across a range of property types and water requirements across South Africa.
Solar borehole replacing municipal water dependency at a rural home.
Multiple borehole system supplying wildlife watering points across a game reserve.
High-yield borehole reducing water costs for a manufacturing facility.
Irrigation borehole for a vegetable farm, with pump system sized to irrigation demand.
Our team handles every step — from geophysical survey to drilling and pump installation. Contact us for a project-specific quotation.
