Table Mountain Group sandstone on the Boschberg; Karoo mudstone and sandstone in the valley with dolerite intrusions. Depths 40–130m.
Request Site Assessment →Yes — Somerset East and the wider upper Karoo farming district are within our Eastern Cape service area.
Valley floor boreholes typically yield at 40–100m in dolerite-intruded Karoo sediments. Boschberg foothill boreholes may access TMG sandstone aquifer at 60–130m.
Borehole water from deep artesian or fractured rock sources is far more drought-resistant than surface dams. We recommend a geophysical survey to identify the best aquifer target.
